5 Ways to Improve your Workout Routine

5 Easy Life Hacks to Improve your Workout Routine

Obviously, not everyone is a marathon runner or power lifting champion. Those with chronic health conditions may not be able to perform extensive exercises, however it is still important to stay as active as possible. There are many natural life hacks that can benefit your workout routine!

  • Detox!

If your body is overloaded with toxins from your environment or the processed, unnatural foods you eat, your body will struggle to maintain health. Detoxing with natural supplements such as bentonite clay or activated charcoal may give you the extra boost you need to achieve better health or lose weight.  Be sure you check with your healthcare provider before starting any supplement and outweigh the risks and benefits with your physician. Also be sure you are using a 100% pure, organic product!

  • Keep Moving!

Simple exercises such as walking or swimming are low impact and beneficial to the body. Little things like walking up and down stairs, climbing in and out of a bathtub or bending down to pick something up are ways we move our bodies without even realizing it. If you are struggling with exercise, start with 5 minutes of low impact stretching a day. Conditioning your body is a slow process. The point is just to keep moving and stay as active as possible.

  • Hydrate!

Water is what your body is made of. You need to stay hydrated to stay as healthy as possible. An easy step to improve your health is to drink adequate amounts of water and avoid sugary drinks.

  • Stay Positive!

If you are constantly stressed, your body is going to react to that. If your body goes into survival mode, it is going to slow your metabolism, store fat and not work properly. High stress is one of the worst things you can do to your body. Practicing healthy habits like meditation, having a positive mindset, avoiding negative people and performing relaxation techniques are great ways to manage stress.

  • Sleep!

Adequate rest and sleep are essential to being healthy. When your body is run down, exhausted and tired it cannot function at 100%!  Your body will be stressed out and that can cause increased cortisol levels and lead to weight gain. Rest when you are tired. Sleep the recommended amount of at least 8 hours a night.

Great ways to use Essential Oils with Masks!

Great ways to use Essential Oils with Masks!

According to the CDC, when used in conjunction with safe practices such as social distancing, handwashing and proper hygiene practices, masks are believed to reduce the risk of exposure to large airborne pathogens. But did you know that there are ways you can incorporate essential oils into your mask usage?

Below is a list of ways you can use essential oils in conjunction with using masks.

  • Anti-Anxiety Treatment.

Some people find wearing a mask to be constricting and anxiety producing, so adding a few drops of a calming essential oil such as lavender to your mask can help you feel calmer and more relaxed.

  • Natural Nausea Relief.

If you struggle with issues such as nausea or motion sickness, applying ginger or peppermint essential oils to your mask may give you natural nausea relief.

  • Anti-septic Cleansing.

It is important to remember to wash your mask after every single use to prevent respiratory infections and bacterial growth from harming your health. Washing your mask with hot water and soaking it in a mixture of naturally antiseptic essential oils such as lemon and tea tree can help keep your mask clean.

  • Energize yourself.

There are many essential oils that can help you find energy and better focus such as orange, rosemary and spearmint. These essential oils are scientifically shown to trigger your olfactory senses and can help you stay on task and be in a better mood!

  • Anti- Acne cleanse.

Wearing masks can potentially cause acne breakouts in some people due to oil, dirt and makeup that can be confined into pores with the excess pressure of masks on the face. This is why it is important to wash your face thoroughly to prevent “maskne” breakouts. You can use essential oils on your face to naturally prevent and treat acne. A diluted solution of Tea tree essential oil can be safely used as a natural astringent. Also, lemon essential oil is great for spot treatments on pimples.

Whether you are using masks for a quick trip to the grocery store or through hours of work during your shift, be sure you are using them safely and cleaning them after each use. If you apply essential oils to your mask, ensure you are using a 100%  pure essential oil product that is organic and does not contain other ingredients or fillers.

What is the difference between white and yellow beeswax?

Beeswax is a substance produced by worker bees, which is secreted by glands on the bee’s abdomen. It is naturally a yellow-brownish color, but can also be purified to different shades of yellow or even white.

What is the difference between white and yellow beeswax?

White and yellow beeswax pellets differ in color based on the filtration process. White beeswax is turned white after undergoing a pressure-filtration process. Yellow beeswax is typically processed less and therefore left in its more natural state.

Which Beeswax should you use?

Choosing the right beeswax product is dependent on what you are using the beeswax for. It is important to choose a pure, 100% organic natural beeswax product that does not contain other filler ingredients. Be sure you research the quality of the beeswax you are purchasing.

White beeswax is great for projects such as candle making because you can create lots of different colored candles with natural mica powder. Beeswax candles are naturally hypoallergenic and emit negative ions into the air, which have various health benefits.

Yellow beeswax can still be used for candles, but will not showcase the colors in the mica powder as well as a white beeswax base will. White beeswax is typically chosen for aesthetic reasons.

Both yellow and white beeswax can be used for creating holistic products such as lip balms, lotions, soaps and as previously mentioned, candles.

Again, before choosing a beeswax product be sure it is authentic and does not contain filler ingredients.

Health Benefits of Himalayan Salt Lamps

Health Benefits of Himalayan Salt Lamps

Himalayan pink salt is used for more than just seasoning food; this natural salt has a variety of health benefits. In the form of lamps, they provide more than just a beautiful glowing light. This article will discuss the many benefits that Himalayan salt can provide to your life.

Cleanse the Air

Himalayan salt lamps work by the scientific concept of hygroscopy, which attracts and absorbs toxic molecules from the air and attracts them into the salt crystal. Airborne contaminants such as cigarette smoke, bacteria, viruses and dust can be reduced simply by introducing a pure Himalayan salt lamp into your home or office.

Reduce EMF

Himalayan salt lamps can naturally neutralize electromagnetic radiation by reducing artificial frequencies. These lamps emit negative ions and can provide a balance to your atmosphere amidst the radiation produced by cell phones, laptops and other electronic devices.

Treat Allergies

Himalayan salt lamps are believed to help relieve allergy symptoms and sinus congestion. Many patients with asthma claim to have improved symptoms when they are exposed to Himalayan salt.

Improve your Mood

People suffering from seasonal affective disorder, emotional disturbances and depression have reported feeling an improvement in their mood after using a salt lamp. Alternative practitioners also use salt lamps in chromotherapy sessions.  In these sessions, Himalayan salt lamps provide a natural, orange glow that may help reduce stress levels and promote a more positive vibe.

When purchasing a salt lamp, be sure you are buying a pure, authentic lamp made from real Himalayan Pink Salt. An imitation salt lamp will not provide the same health benefits, if any at all.
