Natural Sanitation Hacks

Staying healthy is a goal that most of us have, especially when concerns of a global pandemic are involved. Here at Hope Healing Happy Co, we are proud to offer not only products to help you live a better life, but educate our clients on how to do so! Below is a great list of natural ways you can help protect yourself and your family from germs, bacteria and viruses.

  • Wipe down surfaces with safe, natural products.

It is important to clean doorknobs, countertops, sink and shower handles frequently, as germs can linger on surfaces for long periods of time. You can wipe down these surfaces with natural disinfectants such as a mixture of melaleuca (tea tree) essential oil, lemon essential oil and witch hazel.

  • Don’t share personal items.

It is important to keep your personal items to yourself and not to share items such as hairbrushes, make-up items, and toiletries. Also, wash your hands. Proper hygiene is essential to the prevention of germs, virus and pathogens. It is important to wash your hands after touching any public surfaces and before you eat.

  • Use a Diffuser

Diffusing essential oils such as lemon and eucalyptus can actually sanitize the air and provide a natural, clean scent instead of using toxic chemical aerosol sprays. You can also utilize things such as Himalayan salt lamps to naturally detoxify the air in your home.

  • Keep germs out

Easy ways to prevent the spread of germs, bacteria and viruses is to limit your exposure in your home. After you’ve been in public, remove your shoes before entering your house and don’t wear clothes you’ve worn in public places in your home.

  • Support your immune system.

Your immune system needs proper fuel to function such as adequate nutrition, sun exposure, hydration and mindful stress reduction in order to properly protect you from contracting illnesses. It is important to give your body the tools it needs to function. Be sure you are eating healthy foods, drinking enough water and getting sunlight.
