Self-care is an important part of living a healthy lifestyle. But with responsibilities, family obligation, health problems and lifestyle factors it can be hard to find time to take care of yourself. Below is a great list of ways you can practice self-care.
Embrace Nature. Soak up the sunshine, listen to the rain or feel the wind. Whatever the weather is, you can take advantage of nature’s calming effects. Go take a walk outside or simply open a window and get some fresh air.
Enjoy the little things. Pamper yourself in tiny, special ways EVERY SINGLE DAY. Take a hot bubble bath, read a book, drink a smoothie, watch a good movie, wrap up in a soft blanket, light a candle, listen to a calming music playlist or add some calming essential oils into a diffuser. Do something that comforts you daily.
Eliminate Stress. Whether they be physical, emotional, spiritual or mental, try to eliminate as many stressors as possible. If someone is speaking negatively to you, DO NOT engage in the conversation. Eliminate as many toxic people as you can and avoid things that trigger increased pain, sadness or stress.
Exercise. Make it a habit to do at least one healthy exercise a day. You may not be able to run a marathon, but you can still move your body in healing ways such as taking a walk, doing yoga or stretching. It is also important to exercise not only your body but also your mind. Great ways to do this are completing word puzzles, reading or playing a game such as chess.
Your health, mental state and physical body should all be a priority in your life. Taking care of yourself is essential to living the best life possible.
